We took the boys to the Zoo for the very first time last weekend. They loved seeing all the animals and playing in all the fall attractions at the Zoo.
Carter was mesmerized by the gorillas! He just starred and banged on the glass of the exhibit; looking back not sure that Mr. Gorilla was too happy with that...
So when we arrived at the Giraffe safari the boys were wanting to scale the fence and take a closer look at these guys. The boys have a six foot giraffe in their nursery, so I am sure that they were a bit confused as to why these were actually moving.
By the end of the day I learned that you can never have too many Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, or adorable babies to share the day with.

We are one !!!!
Yeah!!! We survived the first year!!!! We just finished a four day celebration for the twins. We would like to thank all of our friends and family that were able to help us celebrate this wonderful occasion. Please take a moment and check out a sampling of the 500 pictures that we took.
Peaceful Retreat
One of the best parts of the birthday weekend was the golf cottage. We live in a subdivision that has a private golf club with three golf courses. We rented an 8 bedroom cottage on the course to host family and have the party. It was one of the most relaxing places that we have visited in some time...
Lets Monkey Around...
On their actual birthday, Friday, we took everyone to Monkey Joe's. It is a play land filled with jumping things and giant slides. The boys liked it for a little while and then became quickly overwhelmed by all the noise and commotion. The adults had as much or more fun bouncing and sliding around with the boys.
Lets Take it Outside
The Candy Bar
The Cakes
The party would not have been complete without some yummy cakes . I had fondant covering all the cakes for a couple of reasons. One it looks great and two it is not as messy as icing. On the guest cake the top tier was strawberry and the bottom tier was golden butter, and all the Einstein figures were sculpted out of edible gum paste. Mmmm!
Thank You, Grandparents

Grocery Shopping
First I have to say sorry about the poor quality of these pictures. I suppose it's time for a new phone.
This was such a BIG day! Being a parent of twins it is little things that I am not able to do, like throw a baby in the buggy and start shopping. They are finally big enough to sit side by side in the space ship buggy! Even though you pilot this particular ship with steering wheels. The boys loved it and so did I!! And it scored about a 10 out of 10 on the cuteness meter!! So Publix look out we are ready to shop...

What is wrong with this picture???
For the most part each night is about the same. We have bath time and then put on our pj's, have a bottle and then off to bed. As I walked into the living room Barrett was playing in the chair and I noticed something protruding form his pj's. I ask Matt what it was and he said, "Mmmm". It was the boogie getter! More commonly known as the nasal aspirator. Some how while Matt was getting him dressed on the changing table Barrett decided that he would stash it down his leg...I suppose he was preparing for a late night boogie emergency!
Carter's First Hair Cut
So many of you have heard about Carter's first hair cut...Sorry for the late pictures! For those of you who don't know I took Carter to get his first trim because he was becoming very shaggy around the ears. There is the most adorable children's salon a few minutes from the house. We loved it!!! Everyone was so nice and Carter loved flying the plane. He sat perfectly still as the lady cut his hair and he just flew the plane... I was so proud of him!

Are we on tour ???
Summer has officially arrived; so let vacation began! That is how we felt around the start of May. Lets fast-forward to today and have a look back at the last few weeks. After 2300 miles, yes 2300, traveling through six states: staying in Montgomery, AL, Seaside, FL, Knoxville, Lexington, and Charlotte, NC we are past exhausted. We have loved spending time with family and dear friends but I am very concerned that the twins first words will be "are we there yet"?
As a new Mommy I could not be more proud of the babies. They really have gotten into a traveling groove. They go anywhere, sleep anywhere, and wake up ready to go with the flow the next day.
With all that said we have officially drawn a line in the sand and will be staying home for a while. Even the thought of having to back another suit case makes me weak in the knees. We have tons of pictures of all our recent adventures. I will go through them and post some in the next few days.
