The Candy Bar
The Cakes
The party would not have been complete without some yummy cakes . I had fondant covering all the cakes for a couple of reasons. One it looks great and two it is not as messy as icing. On the guest cake the top tier was strawberry and the bottom tier was golden butter, and all the Einstein figures were sculpted out of edible gum paste. Mmmm!
Thank You, Grandparents

Grocery Shopping

First I have to say sorry about the poor quality of these pictures. I suppose it's time for a new phone.
This was such a BIG day! Being a parent of twins it is little things that I am not able to do, like throw a baby in the buggy and start shopping. They are finally big enough to sit side by side in the space ship buggy! Even though you pilot this particular ship with steering wheels. The boys loved it and so did I!! And it scored about a 10 out of 10 on the cuteness meter!! So Publix look out we are ready to shop...

What is wrong with this picture???
For the most part each night is about the same. We have bath time and then put on our pj's, have a bottle and then off to bed. As I walked into the living room Barrett was playing in the chair and I noticed something protruding form his pj's. I ask Matt what it was and he said, "Mmmm". It was the boogie getter! More commonly known as the nasal aspirator. Some how while Matt was getting him dressed on the changing table Barrett decided that he would stash it down his leg...I suppose he was preparing for a late night boogie emergency!

Are we on tour ???
Summer has officially arrived; so let vacation began! That is how we felt around the start of May. Lets fast-forward to today and have a look back at the last few weeks. After 2300 miles, yes 2300, traveling through six states: staying in Montgomery, AL, Seaside, FL, Knoxville, Lexington, and Charlotte, NC we are past exhausted. We have loved spending time with family and dear friends but I am very concerned that the twins first words will be "are we there yet"?
As a new Mommy I could not be more proud of the babies. They really have gotten into a traveling groove. They go anywhere, sleep anywhere, and wake up ready to go with the flow the next day.
With all that said we have officially drawn a line in the sand and will be staying home for a while. Even the thought of having to back another suit case makes me weak in the knees. We have tons of pictures of all our recent adventures. I will go through them and post some in the next few days.

Hair and Make up Please!!!
As everyone knows that visits our blog it's sole purpose is to keep everyone up to date about the boys. Today I just felt compelled to share a funny, unfortunately normal happening at our house...
Anyone that knows me also knows that I am not a morning person. I really begin to shine sometime around brunch! This morning the twins are playing and I am dancing around the house getting things rolling. Then door bell rings, Yikes! I am sporting my usual early morning attire; old sorority T-shirt, undies, bad hair, raccoon eyes from yesterdays make-up because I was too tired to take it off last night, and oh yeah a foaming mouth due to the Crest whitening stripes that are now glued to my teeth. And lets not forget the baby attached to my hip that is also chewing on my hair.
I can see that it is the UPS man. I quickly dart into the kitchen where I mistakenly think that this guy will just drop off the package and leave. I forgot to mention that Dora the Explorer is also blaring in the living room so there was no denying that someone was home. This guy must have been UPS employee of the year because he kept ringing the door bell. We have a guest room just off the kitchen so Barrett and I crept in there so I could peek out the window and get a better feel for what was going on and hopefully go undetected. Eeeekkk! I think we may have been spotted when I dove into the closet of the guestroom. That is when Barrett just looked up at me as if to say, "is there any particular reason we are in the closet?" I whispered to him, "Momma is in her undies and can't go to the door." So we waited for what felt like an eternity and then heard the package hit the ground and the truck start up.
Hmmm, no one ever told me it would be this much fun, Ha! Being a Mom I feel comfortable in saying that most of us are not waking up glamorous anymore...

Barrett's Toothbrush VIDEO
We live down the street from two Dentist that informed us that we should be brushing Barrett' 4 teeth. It was truly a miracle since Barrett did not make a peep! Very unusual, so now I think we will be brushing several times a day...Ha! Nothing like a calm baby!!!

Happy Easter
We really had such a wonderful first family Easter! It was an amazing day...We started out at Church where we went to Sunday School since bringing the boys with us is perfectly acceptable. So as Sophia on Golden Girls would say, "Picture this" there we were sitting in church keeping a constant supply of puffs in the boys mouths and letting them chew on a few toys. I looked at my watch and realized that we had actually made it the entire way with no major outbursts and a sense of calm came over me. It was time for the closing pray. You know the one where literally a pin drop could be heard. That is when Carter saw an opportunity to seize the moment...That's right he let out a Burp that would have made a fraternity brother blush. So I did what any true southern lady would do; act like it never happened!!!
It's not a dress Daddy!! There is a great debate going on in the Horn Household. The "Dress War", Matt really disapproves of all the adorable Bubbles and John Johns that I have been buying for the boys. He calls them dresses. I myself have always loved clothes and I take great pride in dressing the children. Matt thinks that they should be in shorts/pants and golf shirts. I disagree... so he can pick out clothes when they turn 2! Until then bring on the smocking!!!
Video
Our little guys are SOOO different! Barrett "really" plays with his toys and Carter is a bit less aggressive!
